The more detail you can share, the more accurate our response will be. Ideally, send us any architect’s drawings or sketches you have, along with photos of the property and a description of what you’re planning. If you’re at an early stage with no drawings yet, that’s fine — we can discuss your requirements and advise on the best way forward.

Timescales may vary depending on the complexity of the project, the scope of works, and the stage at which we are appointed but for most residential projects, we can arrange the initial site inspection/consultation within a week of instruction. Turnaround for a typical set of structural calculations and drawings is one to two weeks from the date we carry out the initial site visit / consultation. If you have an urgent requirement, let us know and we’ll do our best to accommodate it.

We are based in Watford and cover all of Hertfordshire and London as standard. For projects outside our core area, we’re happy to discuss arrangements.

Fees depend on the size, complexity, location of the project. We’re always happy to provide a no-obligation quote — just get in touch with your project details.

Many smaller projects — such as single-storey rear extensions under a certain size — can be carried out under permitted development rights without a formal planning application. However, you will still need Building Regulations approval for any structural work, which is where we come in. If you’re unsure whether planning permission is required, we can advise you or refer you to a planning consultant.
