Working Across Hertfordshire

From our office in Watford we cover the whole of Hertfordshire — from St Albans, Hemel Hempstead and Berkhamsted in the west, through Hatfield, Welwyn Garden City and Hertford in the centre, out to Stevenage, Hitchin, Letchworth, Ware and Bishop’s Stortford in the east. Smaller villages and market towns such as Tring, Harpenden, Radlett and Potters Bar are well within our usual working area.

Hertfordshire is a county of contrasts. The southern fringe is dense Edwardian and inter-war suburb, full of three-bed semis being extended and lofts being converted. The chalk and clay belt across the centre brings characteristic ground conditions — shrinkable clays, brick earth, and isolated patches of made ground — which we routinely allow for in foundation design. Conservation areas in St Albans, Berkhamsted and Hertford require sympathetic structural solutions that respect listed and historic fabric, and we are comfortable working within those constraints.

We deliver to every Hertfordshire local authority Building Control team and most of the Approved Inspectors active in the county. Our calculation packages and drawings are recognised, well presented, and accepted without query.
